1.6 Million a year? Is Shero on crack? He could have resigned Ryan VandenBussche and gotten the same performance for less money.
They probably could have somebody else for less, but the Pens needed a goon. When you have a player like Crosby he has to be allowed to do whatever he wants on the ice and know that nobody can mess with him.
ReplyDeleteKinda like if anyone touched Wayne Gretzky back in the day Marty McSorley would beat the crap outta them. He was so goood at protecting Wayne that he was included in the trade to LA. Crosby needs that kind of buddy.
I know the Pens need a goon and everything I have read in the past 24 hours indicates that Canucks fans are very unhappy to see him go.
ReplyDeletePutting aside the fact that he gives me the willies, I am concerned that signing a player who is destined to spend a considerable amount of time in the penalty box is counterproductive for a team who ranks dead last in penalty killing.
